Advert Red-Flag Check
The Advert Check runs entirely in your browser. The text, link or image you enter is not sent to RichLab and is not stored by RichLab. RichLab only records that the tool was used, without its content.
Business Check
When you run a Business Check, RichLab collects:

| Your mobile number | To track your free checks and any credits you buy. It is not used for messages unless you tick the optional notices box. |
| The name, company, town, website and reason you enter, and any image you upload | To search public information and produce the check result. |
| The result, date and time, your IP address and the version of the terms you accepted | To keep a record of each check, prevent abuse of the free allowance and show what you agreed to. |
| Whether you opted in to notices | So RichLab only sends notices to people who asked for them. |
Uploaded images are passed to the AI service for the check and are not added to RichLab’s records.
Who else processes it
- Anthropic (Claude) assesses the information you enter and any uploaded image.
- SerpAPI runs the public web searches using the names you enter.
- Google hosts RichLab’s private record sheet (Google Sheets) and provides website statistics (Google Analytics).
- PayFast processes payment if you buy credits. RichLab never sees your card details.
- Railway hosts the Business Check service.
Some of these services store or process information outside South Africa. RichLab does not sell personal information.
About the person or business you check
A Business Check looks only at publicly available information. Please only check a person or business when you have a genuine reason, such as hiring, buying or paying. Results are guidance and are not an accusation or a certification.
How long it is kept
Check records are kept while needed to run your allowance and credits and for RichLab’s business records. You can ask for your records to be deleted at any time.
Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information RichLab holds about you, withdraw your consent to notices, and object to processing. Contact RichLab using the details above. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator.
Never submit
Passwords, PINs, ID copies or banking details. RichLab does not need them for any check.
