Hannes Richard
RichLab is run by Hannes Richard, a fabricator and builder at Bronkhorstspruit Dam, Gauteng. His background is hands-on: CNC, plasma cutting, welding, mould-making and 3D modelling, and building software for real operations such as fleet management for a pallet-logistics business.
RichLab is a registered South African company: RICHLABONLINE, CIPC registration number K2026825594, incorporated 15 October 2026.
How RichLab makes money
- Business Check credits. 5 free checks, then 25 checks for R100. No subscription.
- Software pilots. Systems such as FleetEyeQ, Athena and Estate Access are developed for paying operations.
- Referral commissions. Where RichLab writes about a programme it belongs to, any referral link is disclosed on that page, before the link.

Who is responsible for the personal information collected at your estate gate? Where an HOA determines why and how that information is processed, it may be the responsible party under POPIA. Appointing a security provider does not, on its own, remove those responsibilities.
Watch this introduction to Estate Access and its approach to privacy and QR access. The system is being developed to support controlled access to information, defined retention and deletion workflows, and clearer responsibilities between the estate, HOA and security provider.
Software alone does not establish POPIA compliance. Appropriate policies, safeguards, operator agreements and day-to-day practices remain essential.
